How to care for your Wölfe knives
With the proper care and the proper storage, Wölfe cutlery should last a lifetime.
Care tips
- Cutlery should be cleaned immediately after use.
- Wash your knives in warm water using a damp cloth and some dish soap.
- Dry your knives thoroughly and carefully.
We do not recommend placing your Wolfe knives in the dishwasher.
Honing Tips
- Place the honing / sharpening steel tip downwards on a solid, firm surface (cutting board, table, or countertop).
- Hold the knife in your other hand.
- Tilt the knife so that there is approximately a 20° angle between the blade and the honing / sharpening steel.
- Draw the cutting edge down along the steel, making sure you use the entire length of the steel: Work from the back of the blade to the tip of the blade.
- Do not use heavy pressure on the blade.
- Now put the knife on the other side of the steel, again at approximately a 20° angle.
- Draw the blade in the same way down and across the steel.
- Generally, this only needs to be performed 5 to 6 times per side.
